Willow Vale
Our “Willow Vale” property is a 626 ha property, located near the township of Esk, in the Somerset Regional Council area. The property comprises a mixture of terrain including Ironbark and Spotted Gum ridges on duplex and loam soils, narrow-leaved Ironbark on granite flats, and Blue Gum on alluvial plains.
The property boasts an abundance of water, with two creeks (Ivory Creek and Oaky Creek) running through either side of the property and contains three natural springs with good flow. This property has a good mix of non-remnant, regrowth and remnant vegetation that supports koala, grey-headed flying-fox and greater glider, as well as other species that share the same habitat attributes.
The property is located within a Statewide Biodiversity Corridor, with Deongwar State Forest located approximately 6 km to the south. The property is directly connected to the Statewide Biodiversity Corridor through a large tract of remnant vegetation to the north as well as through patches to the south.
This property has been endorsed by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environmental & Water (DCCEEW) as a potentially suitable site for offsets for koala, greater glider and grey-headed flying-fox as part of their advanced offset application process.
