Marrambi

Purchased in January 2025, the property is a 552 ha (1,364 acre) cattle grazing property located near Bryden, in the Somerset Regional Council Area. The property has an abundance of koala already inhabiting the property which is why it has been named “Marrambi” – the indigenous word for koala in the Yugarabul language from South-East Queensland.

The property comprises a mixture of Blue Gum Flats adjacent to Middle Creek running east west of the property with the remaining areas being Ironbark Spotted Gum Ridges and undulating Ironbark Spotted Gum country with loam soils. The property was purchased for its suitability as an offset for species including koala, greater glider and grey-headed flying fox (under the Federal Government EPBC Act), as well as its great connectivity via intact remnant vegetation to the D’Aguilar National Park – providing a corridor to surrounding habitat and biodiversity areas.
